Sidebar ("we," "us") is a client-collaboration product currently in early access. This policy covers the marketing site at shadowchat.net and the product at app.shadowchat.net.
If you submit the "Request access" form, we collect the email address you provide, solely to respond about early access. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or third-party advertising pixels on this marketing site.
If you're invited into the product itself, we store the account information you provide (username, display name, email) and the messages, files, and activity within the matters you're part of — this is core to how the product works, not incidental collection. See "How the product works" below.
Sidebar's product is invite-only: there is no public registration. Every account, whether staff or client, is created through a one-time invite issued by an authorized team member. Access to a given matter (room) is restricted to the people explicitly granted it. We keep an audit log of security-relevant events — logins, failed authentication attempts, and invite activity — as a core feature of the product, visible only to the firm administering that account.
We don't sell your data to third parties. We don't use your email for anything beyond what you signed up for. We don't have a marketing mailing list you'll be added to without asking.
Product data is stored on infrastructure we operate directly. We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, hashed passwords, two-factor authentication) to protect it.
